Instrument installation and
collective performance @ Globe Gallery

Artist Irma Entenmann and I set out to create a space that invites visitors to encounter the dynamics of a collective experience. We focused on collective sensual experiences and decided to build an instrument from materials present at the site.

The plan was to improvise with a group of people for extended amounts of time to create an augmentation that involves hearing, seeing, smelling and touching.

The ground of the area is covered in millions of toy gun ammunition from years of illegal war games being played in the area.
Together with the large frame of an old painting, they build the foundation for our instrument.

Sound waves from a synthesiser travelled through the wood and exited hundreds of bullets to vibrate on the frame.

The audience was invited to join us on carpets around the instrument to rearrange, disrupt and destroy the patterns that the material
formed on the wood.
